Uruguayan based in the Netherlands, 's-Hertogenbosch.
Currently student of St. Joost Master in Visual Arts and Post Contemporary Practice.
Feeling the inmense need to channel, understand and observe her emotion through honesty, Sofía creates and portrays autobiographical bodies of a sensitive woman.
She explores mixed media, which has been mainly self taught; she was already experimenting with artistic expression and plastic art before she knew how to write. In that, she recognizes the primordial influence of her great aunt Marta, philosophy teacher and craftswoman, who encouraged her to work with materials and creativity in their weekly encounters.
Her first formal approach to art education was at the age of eleven, taking a course in analogue photography at "Taller Aquelarre" and since then she has been educated in diverse courses such as Annual course of Contemporary Art Theory at "Fundación de Arte Contemporáneo (FAC)", Image Analysis at "FotoClub Uruguayo", film at "Escuela Dodecá" and "Taller de los Fenómenos de la Percepción y el Lenguaje" at "Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes", among others.
She has a college degree by the "Universidad de la República" in Industrial Design, specialized in Costume and Textile at "Escuela Universitaria Centro de Diseño", and works freelance creating and sharing images.
“I’m always trying to touch what I feel. I illustrate, take infinite photos, explore myself, experiment techniques and give my full self to the feeling. Even if I tried, I wouldn't be able to lie doing what I do”.

Actualmente estudiando en St. Joost, Master en Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice.
Con la gran necesidad de canalizar, entender y observar sus emociones desde la honestidad, Sofía crea y plasma cuerpos autobiográficos de una mujer sensible.
Explora técnicas mixtas de manera autodidacta y antes de aprender a escribir ya estaba experimentando con la expresión artística y la plástica. En ello reconoce influencia primordial de su tía abuela Marta, docente de filosofía y artesana, quien la incentivaba a trabajar con la materia y la creatividad en sus encuentros semanales.
Su primer curso formal fue de fotografía analógica a los once años en Taller Aquelarre y desde entonces se ha formado en diversos cursos y talleres como el Curso de formación permanente en la Fundación de Arte Contemporáneo (FAC), Análisis de la Imagen en FotoClub Uruguayo, cine en Escuela Dodecá y Taller de los Fenómenos de la Percepción y el Lenguaje en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, entre otros.
Es licenciada de la Universidad de la República en la carrera Diseño Industrial Orientación Textil e Indumentaria de la Escuela Universitaria Centro de Diseño y trabaja de manera independiente en creación y difusión de imágenes artísticas.
